The Henschel HS 129 was a twinengine German attack plane used for the most part on the Eastern Front. The first test mission was in 1939. It was commercialized by Henschel Company from 1942 to 1945. In Luftwaffe the aircraft was nicknamed a canned knife for its high efficiency in antitank operations. HS 129 showed amazing results in combats. However in 1944 with the development of Soviet air defense it lost its efficiency and gradually moved to the background giving way to better models.
